5. Wolfgang Petersen's Batman V Superman

Though it was scrapped a long time ago - with only the poster surviving as an Easter Egg in I Am Legend - Wolfgang Petersen's planned Batman V Superman movie actually lends narrative beats to Zack Snyder's replacement. In the script for that film, Bruce Wayne's fiancee is killed by the Joker, which turns him into an agent of vengeance and brings him into direct conflict with Superman. It might not be a full redo, but the idea of one of the heroes being pushed over the edge and embracing murder is definitely reborn in Superman's murderous rampage in the future after the death of his mother.
