Batman V Superman: 9 Major Concerns From The New Trailer

7. Some Of The Dialogue Is Highly Questionable

Didn't the studio purposely hire Chris Terrio, the critically-acclaimed writer of Argo, in order to avoid ending up with a film scattered with lines of dialogue as painful as: "The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world. Son of Krypton versus Bat of Gotham!" Really? That's how this showdown is going to be described? Bat of Gotham? Granted, it's a trailer, and so the dialogue is going to be on-the-nose to some degree - you need to use lines that sum up and epitomise what the movie is about, after all. But that still doesn't mean that every other thing that somebody says in the movie has to be so incredibly bombastic and overwrought, like the characters - talking in philosophical musings - are just reading quotes from old books. After a while, that can get jarring. "If man won't kill God... the devil will do it!" Can we really forgive a line like that, guys?
