Batman V Superman: 9 Major Concerns From The New Trailer

8. Ben Affleck Is A Little Underwhelming

It's sad, but it's true. Can you honestly say that, having seen this newest footage of Ben Affleck "being Batman," that you have more faith in him to deliver? That's not to say that Affleck looks bad in the role, necessarily - simply that, given all the controversy associated with his casting, a lot of people had their hopes set on a truly awesome performance to end awesome performances. As it stands, Affleck just looks... well, fine. Nothing special. Rather unexpectedly, it was a lot easier to put your faith in Ben Affleck playing The Dark Knight before this trailer was unveiled. At least then he'd looked the part - all those brooding close-ups (and a lack of dialogue) convinced a lot of naysayers that he "felt' like Batman. Having seen this trailer, he appears more generic and less beaten and broken than one might have expected; there's a distinct lack of something, whatever that is. That's not to say that he won't deliver when the movie finally rolls around, of course. Now's not the time to give up hope, though it would be wrong to pretend there are no concerns.
