Ever since he was cast as Superman's nemesis, the logistics of Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor have been chewed over incessantly by fans. Was he going to channel his Mark Zuckerberg, or would Batman V Superman see him play against type? Is he the movie's real big bad, or simply set up for a straight Man Of Steel sequel? And, most importantly, would be be shaving off his curly locks? There was an incredible amount of secrecy behind the look of Eisenberg's Luthor. The actor was shepherded to and from location shoots with a bag over his head and all involved were coy about just what his noggin would look like in the finished film. The most recent character reveal put an end to all that - turns out... he's bald. That's it. Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman is simply a bald Jesse Eisenberg, not dissimilar to all the fan-made images that have been circulating over the past year. And that's exactly what was needed. There's no unnecessary meddling with the status quo or attempts to present something more - just a shaved Eisenberg. It's simple, for sure, but that's the real strength of Luthor as a visual icon.
