Batman V Superman: Ranking The Performances From Worst To Best
3. Henry Cavill - Superman
Henry Cavill puts in a performance that is - surprise, surprise - incredibly similar to the one he delivered in Man of Steel; if you didn't like him in that movie, there's very little chance you're going to like what he's doing here. The problem with Cavill's Superman is that he's so blue. Not because of his costume, but because he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Every time the movie cuts back to him, he's looking about with a face like a slapped arse. As such, it's hard to judge Cavill because he's only ever really required to stand around looking like he's just been told he has a rare and inoperable terminal illness. Cavill isn't a bad actor, but this isn't a great role for showcasing your acting abilities. The reviews for Batman v Superman have been particularly harsh on Cavill, but he's fine here, doing what the script requires of him (look sad). More charisma needed, though.
