10. Johnny Depp

Although it certainly seems ridiculous to suggest that Johnny Depp take on yet another role that requires him to put on a ton of make-up and act "quirky," it's difficult to escape the feeling that he's probably one of very few actors who could naturally embody a character like this. That's to say, I don't think many people would be all that worried if Johnny Depp was cast in the role for the reboot - he'd be able to pull off the Joker, but would be able to pull off the right Joker? The last two decades or so (and especially recently) have played host to Johnny Depp as a sort of cinematic chameleon - each role very different from the last. Though his recent slew of make-up-clad, hat-based roles have kind of blended into one, who else better to play a cartoon villain than somebody who has literally morphed into a cartoon actor? Would he play it too similar to Heath Ledger? That'd be probably be the biggest concern, but he's still a fine and worthy contender.
