1. John Hawkes Is The Riddler
John Hawkes has been having a Hell of a time as an actor in the last few years, since Winter's Bone snagged him an Oscar nomination, giving him the gateway to undertake a number of equally excellent - yet curiously awards-snubbed - roles, such as in Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Sessions. What he proved in Martha Marcy above all other roles is that he can play an intimidating, creepy, vicious villain as brilliantly as anyone else, and he could easily channel that creepiness into a major tentpole picture, namely as The Riddler in Batman vs. Superman. While we have no idea yet whether Batman and Superman will even get one villain a-piece for the movie, The Ridder is one of the more likely villains to appear from the Batman stable, given how heavily he was rumoured for The Dark Knight Rises, and how he's one of the few major villains not to have even been referenced by Nolan's Batman franchise. Hawkes has the slight frame and quirky persona necessary to make the violent genius of Edward Nigma very much his own, far away from the camp of Jim Carrey's (admittedly entertaining) turn.
