Batman vs Superman: 10 Casting Choices They Must Make

5. Matthew Goode Is Brainiac

Watchmen Matthew Goode Matthew Goode was apparently in the running to play Superman in Man of Steel, and it's not surprising, given how similar he and Henry Cavill look. Goode has proven in Watchmen that he can play a superb villain despite his slight frame, with his piercing glare giving him an eerie, almost robotic appearance that would be perfect for a character like Brainiac. Though Brainiac is unlikely to be the main villain if he's in the film at all, he'll serve as a more outrageous counterpoint to the far more realistic and grounded Lex Luthor. Though Snyder may opt to go in a different direction entirely for Batman vs Superman - given that we've already seen Clark face off against an alien invader in Man of Steel - it's still worth considering, even if all we see of Brainiac is a tease in a post-credits scene.
