Batman Vs Superman: 10 Last-Minute Hopes Fans Are Clinging To
7. Eisenberg Will Give A Transformative Performance
Jesse Eisenbergs casting as Lex Luthor is something that has caused a few murmurs of discontent among fans. This isnt the Lex that they know and love, but looks more like a rehash of Eisenbergs snarky turn as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. And fans dont just want to see an old film reheated in comic book clothing. They want unique new ideas and a few surprises. The hope is, then, that Mr Eisenberg will give a transformative performance in the movie. Lex may start as a Zuckerberg-esque youngster industrialist, but hopefully hell have a sizeable character arc from there to take the character somewhere new and different. Its already known that hell go bald; perhaps that will coincide a big personality transition. I for one would love to see Eisenberg give a really dark performance, progressing his Lex from a snarky millennial business owner to a truly disdain-inducing twisted maniac. Luthor doesnt always have to be a cheesy Gene Hackman type, after all, which feels worryingly where the Zuckerberg-aping Lex could end up.
