Batman vs Superman: 10 Reasons Jesse Eisenberg As Lex Luthor Is All Wrong

8. Eisenberg Is Not A Box Office Draw

We all know Batman Vs Superman will be one of the biggest films released this decade, regardless of quality, but Zack Snyder's unusual casting choices have unsettled many fans. Casting a big, reliable Hollywood name for the role of Lex Luthor would have reassured audiences that there is at least some quality control on this thing.

Eisenberg's most successful film to date is The Social Network. Did people go see that movie for Eisenberg? No. Did audiences flock to follow up films like Now You See Me and 30 Minutes Or Less to get a glimpse of their new favorite star? Hell no. I understand Eiesenberg is more of a character actor, but Henry Cavill isn't exactly a household name either and the whole Batfleck drama has already destroyed lives. Batman Vs Superman is relying too much on peoples love of the comic book properties. Snyder needs a big name to draw in the skeptical audiences.
