Batman Vs Superman: 10 Superior Actors Who Should Have Been Lex Luthor

2. Bryan Cranston

Until 2012 if you had asked someone to name a bald headed, evil genius they would probably have said Lex Luthor, but following the final series of Breaking Bad, that answer would now no doubt change to Walter White. At the heart of Breaking Bad was a terrific character performance by Bryan Cranston, an actor who was once best known as the bumbling dad in Malcolm in the Middle and who enjoyed an incredible renaissance as a meth dealing chemist with Machiavellian overtones. He is also around the right age for many people's view of Lex Luthor; he has 25 years on Eisenberg, so he could never be a like for like replacement, but he is certainly not too old for the part. Gene Hackman played Luthor in his 40's and 50's, and Cranston is at the top end of this, aged 57, but would be more than capable of bringing the necessary energy, anger, and intensity to the role. We also already know he can rock the bald look. Stand Out Moment: In the fourth season of Breaking Bad Walter White delivers one of the most infamous lines in the whole show - "I am the one who knocks" - which became an instant classic, thanks to the brilliant delivery and how fundamentally it changed the character of Walter White forever in a single moment.
