Batman Vs Superman: 10 Superior Actors Who Should Have Been Lex Luthor
8. Casey Affleck
Batman Vs Superman would put Casey on screen with his brother of course, and it would be exciting to see the relationship between them on screen in a different way to their previous joint-project, Good Will Hunting. In that role the pair had chemistry and an undeniably appealing dynamic, but we are yet to see any project taking advantage of the younger sibling's move into darker work. Casey is more than capable of playing a twisted and fundamentally bad man, as his performance as Robert Ford proved. That performance was one of a nuanced, power grabbing narcissist, wrought by selfishness and jealousy, and it offered a model that suggested the actor was suited to even darker material. Casey is a great choice to play an arrogant and conceited megalomaniac. His looks mean he can appear as an executive businessman, but his performances show that he is capable of bringing tremendous emotional darkness to his characterisations, and that is precisely what Affleck would be adept at playing a young upstart Luthor, and while he may be 38, he certainly looks younger, and cut the image of a baby billionaire harbouring a dark secret. Stand Out Moment: The titular murder of Brad Pitt's anti-hero in The Assassination of Jesse James by Coward Robert Ford is a fantastic piece of acting: Affleck shows his torn emotions, but ultimately his selfish and evil intentions in almost complete silence, allowing his movements and expressions to shine through.
