Batman Vs Superman: 20 Big Questions That Still Need Answers

9. Will There Be Kryptonite?

This is one of the most important questions facing the film. In most comic book scenarios in which Superman is defeated, kryptonite always plays a key role. Even in the Dark Knight Returns the only way Bruce is able to defeat Clark is with the help of Oliver Queen's kryptonite tipped arrow, and if Superman is powerful enough to destroy entire city blocks, Batman is going to have to be prepared. He's the more experienced hand-to-hand combatant, but he's going to need to bring Superman down to his level. Without kryptonite, someone like Lex Luthor might not pose as much of a threat; all the rhetoric in the world couldn't kill Superman even if he tried. It wouldn't be too much of a leap to assume we will see the introduction of the irradiated rock, but then it would be interesting to see how they tell the story if kryptonite is excluded. Kryptonite has always served as a story telling fail safe, but does it seem to have an appropriate place in the sequel? Maybe, but we have to remember we're dealing with a reinvention of this Universe from a whole new perspective.
