Batman Vs Superman: 20 Big Questions That Still Need Answers
2. Who Will Score The Film?
One of the greatest things about Man Of Steel was its score and his ability to reinvent a theme for a character that, up until that point, was tied to John Williams' epic rendition. Even in his other incarnations, animated or otherwise, Superman's theme always drew from the happy, triumphant march that Williams wrote, but Hans Zimmer - who has dropped a few hints that he may not score the sequel - made it his own and brought the theme down to our level, much as Snyder and Goyer looked to do with the character himself. It's understandable that coming off of scoring three Batman films that Zimmer wouldn't want to force himself to reinvent yet another theme he's already reinvented. It might seem like he's creatively spinning his wheels. Then again there's so much fun to be had in crafting a joint theme between the two heroes which can eventually be expanded upon for an epic Justice League theme. Alan Silvestri masterfully blended the two concepts with his Captain America theme that played a large role in his scoring of The Avengers. Knowing that the end goal for WB and DC is to do something similar to Marvel, it could make sense to have a coherent vision musically tie into the films themselves. Of course this is a bit of a logistical question that, with films like these, can often come down to something as much as a scheduling conflict. Though it's hard to deny that in DC's Cinematic Universe, Zimmer has played an equally important role as the film-makers themselves.
