Batman vs Superman Movie - 4 Reasons The Delay Is A Good Thing

2. More Time To Craft the DC Universe

Justiceleague More time to work on a film, especially one as important as this one, is always going to be a good thing. Yes, delays in production can derail a movie, but that isn't what's happening here. You have to remember that DC isn't only making a Superman sequel here. They aren't even only making a Batman/Superman team-up film. BVS will lay the foundations for what will hopefully, finally be a shared cinematic universe and pave the way for more of their iconic characters on the big screen. The future of DC on film relies solely on this film. If it tanks, or isn't the hit with audiences that it needs to be, it will absolutely derail any of their future Justice League plans and any solo films moving forward. Remember what happened with Green Lantern? Before that film's release we got word on films for The Flash, Hawkman, and Wonder Woman; and then when it tanked all of that news went quiet. Those films were immediately shelved and WB had to start over again and hinge all of their bets on Man of Steel. The same thing is happening here. That's why it's more important than ever for WB to take the time to get this thing right, and look ahead at where they want to go next. The inclusion of Wonder Woman in this movie is also something they have to get right, since it'll be our first time seeing her on the silver screen. We've heard so many rumors about Justice League that it's become white noise, and WB taking the time to figure out exactly what they want to do with these characters is unequivocally the best decision. It shows that they aren't just trying to "compete" with Marvel Studios or make some quick cash on a team-up film. They're truly trying to make the best movie possible, and in this day and age that's a rare thing, and something to be admired, not criticised.
