7. Wes Bentley
Wes Bentley may not be a household name, but when it comes to comic book adaptations, that's usually a good thing. He's best known for playing Ricky Fitts in American Beauty, the villainous Blackheart in Ghost Rider, and most recently Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games. It was his part in The Hunger Games that caught the attention of director Christopher Nolan, who recommended to Zack Snyder that he play Batman. He cited the the actor's "inner turmoil, repressed rage behind the smile" that so aptly fits Bruce Wayne. He's 35, so may be a bit old for the part, but certainly has the looks and the acting chops for it. Since he lost the role of Bats to Ben Affleck, perhaps playing his former sidekick would be a good compromise?
