Beauty And The Beast Remake: 18 Major Changes Disney Made

6. Maestro Cadenza

In The Original

There is a character called Wardrobe, but she's an isolated figure with a murderous streak (she's the only enchanted servant character who definitely kills someone in the final battle scene).

In The Remake

Wardrobe is renamed Madame Garderobe (as voiced by Audra McDonald), and she has a romantic-tragic backstory with a wholly new character, Stanley Tucci's Maestro Cadenza. He was once a neurotic maestro and has now been transformed into a harpischord.

Rather touchingly, he is married to Garderobe, and the pair are kept apart by their lumbering size and inability to move around the castle like some of the other enchanted items. He frequently laments being unable to see his wife and wonders aloud if they'll ever be together.
