4. The Substance
What would The Substance be without its absolutely bats**t insane finale? After Sue (Margaret Qualley) beats Elisabeth (Demi Moore) to death, she desperately tries to create a new version of herself with the leftover substance, in turn becoming the horrifically mutated "Monstro Elisasue."
Elisasue, a grotesque hybrid of Elisabeth and Sue, still attempts to host the hallowed New Year's Eve show, but the audience reacts with disgust when they see her new form.
After an audience member decapitates Elisasue, an even more mutated head grows back all while she showers the panicking audience with gallons of blood. Elisasue then flees the studio and collapses, exploding into a pile of gore.
But that's not all - Elisabeth's face detaches from the puddle of viscera and crawls onto her long-neglected Hollywood Walk of Fame star, where it soon enough melts into a puddle before being cleaned up by a street cleaner.
Director Coralie Fargeat needed to go hard to deliver an ending worthy of The Substance's incredible build-up, and boy, she sure as hell pulled it off.
