20 Great Performances Wasted In Terrible Horror Movies

13. Richard Brake - 31

Richard Brake is one of cinema's great character actors - if you need someone to play a deranged creep, there are few better options.

As such, Brake has collaborated numerous times with Rob Zombie, his finest hour of which was surely in Zombie's otherwise dreadful action-horror film 31.

Brake portrays central antagonist Doom-Head, and from a chilling introductory montage in the very first scene, it's clear that Brake is giving it his all here, as he ever does.

Brake sadly isn't in the film nearly enough, but every time he shows up it basically feels like him giving us his own twisted rendition of The Joker - in the best way.

Otherwise 31 is basically just Zombie's blandly junky riff on The Running Man, and one that's shockingly lacking in personality despite Zombie's penchant for cartoonish excess.

It's a tired movie whenever Brake isn't on screen, which is frustratingly far too often.
