Best Popular Film Oscar: 10 Most Likely Nominees

6. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

Though the second Fantastic Beasts film hasn't been released yet, there's zero doubt that it's going to be one of the year's biggest box office hits, and if it lives up to its considerable potential, it should go down easy with critics too.

Obviously, if the Best Popular Film Oscar existed during the Harry Potter years, numerous entries into the franchise would've been nominated and possibly even won, so fans will have to make do with the next best thing here.

Chances Of Winning: The fact that the film has more overt ties to Potter than its predecessor - namely the presence of a young Dumbledore (Jude Law) - will do it a world of good, though it's ultimately likely to be a good movie rather than a great one, really.
