Big Hero 6: 6 Reasons It’s Better Than Frozen

1. Baymax

Before this movie, nobody thought it was ever possible to fall in love with a giant marshmallow balloon robot, and after you see the movie you won't know how you ever lived without him. Voiced by 30 Rock's Scott Adsit, Baymax is Tadashi's final robotics project before his death, designed as an on-demand nurse to heal the sick and injured. He's equipped with defibrillators, heat, thousands of medical procedures, and even lollipops. Also, he's absolutely adorable; even his blinking will melt your heart into mush. When Hiro loses Tadashi, Baymax is all he has left of his brother which strengthens the bond between the two in a way that Frozen just couldn't between the two estranged sisters. When the king and queen are lost at sea, Elsa hides away from Anna in her room until her coronation on her 18th birthday. Baymax acts equally as a caregiver to Hiro as Tadashi did after their parents died, even going against his own programming with Hiro's battle upgrades time and time again simply because it will make Hiro deal with losing his brother. Also, he does a pretty mean fist bump. Balalalalalala. Frozen is still being capitalized upon by the Disney Company, but as time goes on audiences and tourists in Disney parks are beginning to realize that the studio has much more to offer beyond Frozen. Big Hero 6 is a superior film plot-wise, character-wise, and quality-wise, and hopefully over this holiday season it will see equal amounts of success and devotion as its predecessor has in the past year.
