Black Panther: 13 Biggest Unanswered Questions
8. Can Vibranium Be Permanently Deactivated?
The Question: When Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) first sees Wakanda's magnet train system, which is used to transport Vibranium around, Shuri tells him that she invented a sonic stabiliser system which "deactivates" the metal to ensure it's stable and safe to transport.
It seems like this plot point's going to be returned to later yet it never is. It does beg the question, though: can Vibranium be permanently stripped of its multi-purpose properties? Further still, could a supervillain weaponise Shuri's sonic stabiliser and use it to cripple the country's infrastructure?
The Likely Answer: It wouldn't be remotely surprising if a future villain emerged with a powerful sonic blaster weapon not dissimilar to Ulysses Klaue's portable sonic cannon in this film, but honestly, this one could go either way.
A wacky scheme to taint the Vibranium stockpile sounds a little like something Lex Luthor would come up with in a bad Superman movie, but maybe with the right execution it could work. Wait and see.
