Black Panther: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
1. Erik Killmonger
Played By: Michael B Jordan
Though this is T'Challa's movie, the best performance - and the best character - goes to Ryan Coogler's muse Michael B Jordan, who once again helps to prove that he and the director are the new DiCaprio/Scorsese.
Erik Killmonger has a legitimate claim to being the best MCU villain to date: he is as personally motivated (and as haunted) as Zemo, he's powerful and he is driven by the fundamental belief that he's doing the right thing, which makes him a completely difference species of villain.
He is the walking, talking personification of radicalisation - devoutly committed to bettering the world in his own image and deeply sympathetic not only in some of his ideals but also in the tragedies that robbed him of his identity. And Jordan's performance is subtle, devastating and brilliant. That final scene and that line about his ancestors will stay with you long after the film ends.
