Black Panther Movie: 8 Ways Marvel Have Been Building Towards It For Years

3. Black Panther Villain Ulysses Klaue Is Introduced In Age Of Ultron

There was a lot of speculation about who Andy Serkis €“ the Marlon Brando of motion capture performances €“ would be playing in Age Of Ultron, with everyone from Thanos to Red Skull being mentioned as a possibility. Based on his appearance and the plot of the movie, a lot of people speculated correctly that he€™d be playing Ulysses Klaue, a classic villain from the Black Panther comics. This version of the character has been turned into a seedy arms dealer who doesn€™t get much to do, other than a key scene where Ultron relives him of his supply of vibranium in exchange for billions of dollars. He then makes the mistake of comparing Ultron to Tony Stark, which costs him his left hand when Ultron takes it badly. When The Avengers attack, Klaue quietly sneaks out with his men. His surname in the comic was Klaw, something that the film toned down ever so slightly. He originally lost his hand in a fight with Black Panther, and replaced it with a sonic emitter to do battle with his old enemy. Whenever Serkis reappears in the MCU, this is likely to be the case too.
