Black Panther Review: 10 Best Moments

4. Killmonger Dies

Black Panther Final Battle
Marvel Studios

T'Challa eventually manages to mortally wound Killmonger by stabbing him in the chest, at which point the fight comes to an end and T'Challa offers to save Killmonger's life by healing the wound with some of Wakanda's fancy medical tech.

Killmonger, however, rejects the offer, pulling the blade out of his wound as he finally gets to see the beauty of a Wakandan sunset for himself.

In his chilling final words, Killmonger tells T'Challa, "death is better than bondage", unable to face the prospect of being imprisoned for his actions. He peacefully expires in one of the MCU's most poignant death scenes to date, because all things considered, Killmonger is a tragic villain with grounded, relatable motivations.
