3. Who Is Taskmaster?
Throughout the entire MCU, Marvel have loved a good villain twist. From Obadiah Stane being revealed as the antagonist to Bucky's dual identity as the Winter Soldier, and Adrian Toomes being Liz's dad, there has been no shortage of shocking reveals over the years.
Kevin Feige and co.'s insistence on keeping Taskmaster's face hidden behind his mask seems confirmation enough that the villain's identity will be yet another shocking twist, leading to numerous rumours and theories about who Taskmaster will actually be. One of the main candidate's is O.T Fagbenle's Mason, but he is far from the only option.
Some of the most popular rumours have claimed that any number of characters could ultimately be revealed as the Black Widow antagonist. From Steve Rogers or Clint Barton, to Melina or even a clone of Natasha, the face hidden by Taskmaster's mask really could belong to anybody.
If, after building such mystery and intrigue around the character, the movie does not reveal Taskmaster to be someone shocking from Natasha's past, or even her future, Marvel Studios will likely have some angry/disappointed fans on their hands. They have had villainous twists backfire on them before like Trevor Slattery, but here's hoping fans will go away happier than then.
