5. Taskmaster Isn't Actually After Back Widow

So, Taskmaster is definitely a mystery heading into Black Widow, and Scarlett Johansson has elaborated on why Natasha Romanoff ends up coming to blows with the formidable villain (who has the ability to imitate the fighting style of anyone he sees in action).

Has the villain been sent after her by General Ross as he sets up the villainous team known as the Thunderbolts? If not, it must be the Red Room, right? Well, the latter sounds like the more likely option based on these comments, but he's not been sent to come after Natasha.

"When she meets Taskmaster, she's off her game," Johansson explains. "Initially, it seems to her that this is perhaps some part of the Sokovia Accords or maybe he has been sent to retrieve her by Secretary Ross. As soon as she starts to experience Taskmaster's fighting style, she realizes that actually she's not the target and that Taskmaster has a bigger target."

Who that bigger target might be is hard to say, but it's not necessarily a reference to a person, and Taskmaster's mission could be to acquire something for Dreykov and whoever funds him these days.
