Black Widow - 5 People Who Could Be Taskmaster

When we found out that the legendary Rachel Weisz was cast in the film, the internet was rife with speculation about her role. She was eventually confirmed to be playing Melina Vostokoff, AKA longtime Black Widow villain, Iron Maiden.

Again, she's a villain. So... what's the deal? We've seen nothing whatsoever indicating that her character is villainous. Granted, she may not be. Not initially.

M'Baku got a similar treatment in Black Panther, as did Nakia. It's entirely possible that we'll see the film do the same with her, but what if they stick more closely to her comic book nature than we've been led to believe?

The trailers have featured possible misdirection, with Natasha asking about Taskmaster's identity with the phrase, "Who is that guy?" "Guy"? That seems a little specific, doesn't it? Could it be intentional?

Weisz said Melina went through the Red Room five times. Does she resent Natasha? Did she ascend to leadership in the Red Room? Would that not make her the perfect adversary for Black Widow? The filmmakers pulling a fast one on us and putting Melina behind the mask would be a nice way to make Taskmaster a much more personal villain.
