Black Widow: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

It took 11 years for Natasha Romanoff to finally get a solo movie of her own, and while most fans can agree that it should have come much sooner, and that the movie itself probably won't be going down as among the best the franchise has to offer, the titular character herself was excellent.

Prequels are always tricky, particularly this one, since the character's future is already set in stone and well known, and so it could have been difficult to feel any real tension or emotion throughout the movie. However, this was more about exploring Natasha's past than her future, and it was an exploration that was long overdue.

There were two very different, very distinct sides to Natasha in this movie. The badass Avenger everyone has come to know and love was very present, but there was also a vulnerability to Nat that has never been shown before. The Earth's Mightiest Heroes may have turned into a family for her, but this was the first time she could truly be seen as a daughter and a sister.

She was able to carry this movie as a main character without having to rely on any cameos or appearances from her fellow Avengers, with Scarlett Johansson's performance begging the question, why didn't Marvel give her her own solo franchise before the character had been killed off?
