Black Widow Final Trailer Review: 6 Ups & 1 Down
4. The Action Is Dazzling
Oh what a visual joy this final trailer was.
The most action-packed yet, it features some stunning set pieces - all of which are outdone by the grandeur of the stunts taking place within them.
Action in a superhero movie is far from a fresh thing, but since Black Widow was one of the few human Avengers, it's nice that her solo film is relying on a gritty action-heavy plot to sell it. While she's certainly no stranger to aliens, time-traveling or all-powerful wannabe gods, Natasha's strengths have always lay in the grounded nature of her character.
But it's not just the uncomfortably physical hand-to-hand scenes that look great here, as the ridiculously ambitious dives, explosions and mid-air battles jump off the screen with an intense panic (and significantly better CGI effects than the first trailer). And it takes a real talent to pull that kind of over-the-top action off and still make it seem grounded.
