5. That Leaked Synopsis? It's Been Debunked
As far as secret Intel leaks go, Black Widow knows how to tell what's fake and what she can take advantage of - this was made apparent in the closing moments of The Winter Soldier. So, that leaked plot synopsis for the film everyone thought made its way online? Turns out that's not reliable Intel.
A plot outline that described Romanoff's solo film came out months ago and has officially been debunked as having zero connection to the upcoming film. It had the spy acting as a freelance operative in New York in 2006, after the KGB tried to silence her following the fall of the USSR. In that leak, it also stated that she was given to the KGB at birth and groomed to become the ultimate operative.
This concept is actually a canceled one from screenwriter David Hayter. Most people know Hayter from his work as the voice of video game icon Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series. In an interview with Discussing Film, he states that the synopsis leaked is from a canceled Black Widow project Hayter had previously been involved with.
While that story would have been cool, we are still in the dark on what's really going down.
