Blood Father Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

5. An Outstanding Supporting Cast

Though this is the Mel Gibson show all the way, it sure doesn't hurt that he's got a terrific supporting cast to work with.

First and foremost, there's William H. Macy as his aforementioned sponsor, a terrific mix of exasperated and bada** who both adds humour to the movie and accentuates the drama.

Then there's Michael Parks, who appears briefly as John's old buddy and reels off a superb monologue, and of course Diego Luna, who plays Jonah Pincerna, Lydia's boyfriend and the cause of this whole mess.

They all get their memorable moments and give Gibson and Moriarty plenty to work with, which is really all you could ask for.
