Bohemian Rhapsody Trailer 2 Reaction: 4 Ups & 1 Down
2. Rami Malek’s Career-Defining Performance As Mercury
While Sasha Baron Cohen would’ve no doubt delivered an unforgettable performance as Freddie Mercury, we can’t help but be thankful that the actor dropped out of the project, because if he hadn’t, we wouldn’t have been treated to Rami Malek’s scarily good performance as the singer. We like to believe things happen for a reason, and if this second trailer accomplishes anything, it’s proving that Malek is the right guy for the job.
From his accent, to his Mercury-esque body movements and quirks, Malek has mastered every little eccentricity that we associate with Mercury. If fact, he’s so good that you would swear it was him singing instead of the real Mercury. Malek proved on Mr. Robot just how good an actor he is, and if his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody is as good as it looks in the trailer, this could be the defining performance of his career.
