Though this is far from confirmed, of course, there have been consistent reports that Barbara Broccoli was seeking out singers after becoming impatient waiting for Adele to decide if she was going to come back for a second consecutive song. If the persistent rumour is true, this will make Smith a rare breed among Bond singers, who are typically well-established worldwide talents with smash hit albums: his first record was only released in May of this year.
