Bond 24: 15 Locations That 007 Should Visit Next

7. Krasnoyarsk, Siberia

Last Visited: Never Other films shot there: The Super, The Barber of Siberia Highlight: The Paraskeva Pyatnitsa chapel, atop Karaulanaya Hill Why? Bond has of course visited Russia, former USSR countries during the Cold war and Siberia in the opening of A View to A Kill. But since Goldeneye Bond hasn't spent a decent amount of time in Russia, and definitely not Siberia. Krasnoyarsk is one of Russia's biggest cities and the most populous in Siberia- a region that is harsh and cold as well as being full of character. Whilst the city isn't world-famous or packed with landmarks, it's stark and oppressive. Krasnoyarsk is the perfect place for Bond to either hide out or find a lowlife skulking away that he needs to extract information from. Whilst it's not the most glamorous or exotic place, it would work as well as Moscow did for Jason Bourne in his second outing, The Bourne Supremacy. A bleak, uniformed city in which to disappear for whatever reason John Logan's script might require. Likelihood (out of 5): 1

6. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Last Visited: Moonraker Other films shot there: City of God, Fast Five, The Incredible Hulk Highlight: Much like Amsterdam and its Red Light District, the Bondian answer would be Ipanema Beach. The postcard option would be the statue of Christ the Redeemer. But for something a lot more dangerous, the Favela would be the place to go- most notably Cidade de Deus. Why? Bond has visited this world-famous city before- back when he had eyebrows insured for a million, was unenlightened and had to stop a megalomaniac intent on colonizing outer space. But now Brazil has devolved- despite winning the 2016 olympic bid, the Favelas have become worse than ever, and the city was in the press when a football game went wrong and a referee was ritually beheaded by a crowd. Rio now represents the perfect blend of picturesque luxury and impoverished, life-threatening thrills that Bond should be traversing. The city is more in the public eye than ever before due to Rio 2016, so it's a location that's worth the Bond team cashing in on. Relevant and enaging, perhaps more than any other location on this list. Likelihood (out of 5): 4
