2. Wait a Minute, Who was Mr. White?
In Casino Royale we follow the blood crying Le Chiffre to his bitter end when he cannot produce the money he has lost to the powerful organization backing him. Bond spends some time recovering and enjoys a short affair with Vesper before she is killed by the same organization. At the end of the film, Bond shoots his only lead in the knee, a one and mysterious Mister White. Who was that guy anyways? Quantum of Solace pretty much begins where Royale left off with Mister White in the back of Bond's car. After some more action 007 takes him to an interrogation where White taunts both Bond and M that his secretive organization has people everywhere. This is where a MI6 agent pulls his guns and begins to shoot letting Mr. White get away. That's pretty much it. The scene where Bond actually killed White at the end of Solace was taken out so the audience was left with a giant, unresolved, convoluted hole that filmmaker Sam Mendes said screw it to and decided to ignore altogether in Skyfall. Good for him, why spend his film making up for Quantum's mistakes? But still, who was that White guy anyways? Well, he was supposed to be a higher up in the Quantum organization along with Dominic Greene (the perfect example of what happens to Bond villains when they are just huge jerks and not theatrical in anyway). It sounds like this secret organization was really more of an attempted throwback to SPECTRE and hence Blofeld. It just didn't work out that way. But that doesn't mean Bond 24 can't be different.
