Bond 25: 5 Things From Previous Daniel Craig Films It Must Continue (And 4 It Must Avoid)
7. CONTINUE: Bare-Knuckle Fist Fights
Casino Royale kicked off a long-running tradition of rough and ready fight scenes, which was possibly the most enjoyable source of action in Daniel Craig's Bond films. Even Quantum of Solace retained this element. These clunky, noisy and not at all pretty scraps showed Bond's brutal path to success in the workplace and differed his modern version of Bond to the 007s of the past.
Bathrooms, staircases, hotel rooms with glass doors and other such not-so-glamorous locations set the stage for Bond's stripped down demeanor and violent resolve. Some moments were genuinely hard to watch.
So here begins the campaign for the bare-knuckle bruising to return in number 25, in all its bloodthirsty glory. Though violent fight scenes do not by any means make for a good film, they do add weight to the concept that the Bond films are set in the real world where nothing is easy or clean cut, and real physics is a restrictive factor for all concerned.
Bond's physical struggle to overcome these opposing ailments add great depth, and also make for some riveting entertainment.
