Brad Bird directing live-action John Carter of Mars....

mars.jpgUPDATED: Just as I was about to upload this story, AICN are now reporting it to be complete bullshit, which I don't think surprises any one of us. It's a shame, it could have been a killer flick, but AICN were pretty dumb to be fooled by this one. Usually they are on the ball on April Fool's Day! .....yeah and I'm planning to remake Citizen Kane! God damnit. Just remember what day it is before you take any of this information below to be the gospel. I just knew a big story would break in some form today, and it would leave us scratching our heads to the validity of it. Upcoming Pixar (which is apparently an official Disney news outlet) have made the announcement that The Incredibles helmer Brad Bird will direct a live-action John Carter of Mars movie, to hit theatres in 2009. Back in Januaray we told you that Disney had optioned the rights to the science fiction franchise after the latest attempt to bring the film to life by Jon Favreau and Harry Knowles came apart under Paramount's banner. First Snow director and Iron Man scribe Mark Fergus will be co-writing and directing. IF TRUE, WHICH PERSONALLY I'M EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL OF.... this would quickly become one of the most exciting projects currently in production, from surely one of the most exciting and hungry directors around. However, I'm pretty certain it's complete bullshit. It's not true. But I dearly hope I'm wrong. source - aicn, upcoming pixar
