Brotherhood Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs

3. There's Plenty Of Cringe-Worthy Humour

Though it's much appreciated that Clarke decided to inject more humour into the concluding entry of his Hood trilogy, the results are decidedly mixed overall and frequently give way to head-smackingly embarrassing "comedic" exchanges.

In one instance, one of Sam's pals refuses to tell his wife that he's back in contact with Sam, so every time they're on the phone, the guy tells his wife that he's actually talking to Sainsbury's about collecting his new clubcard. The recurring "joke" gets dragged out to excruciating levels throughout the movie and is beyond painful.

Similarly, a number of other gags don't really land and elicit more groans than chuckles.
