Brotherhood Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs

2. The Cast Is An Incredibly Mixed Bag

Performance-wise, this couldn't be much more of an inconsistent effort: though Clarke in particular gives a solid performance, the supporting players range from passable, to giggle-worthy, to downright awful.

It's not massively surprising given the lack of big names the project attracted, but even so, some of the movie's more crucial beats may have better-served by more capable actors.

Maza's big bad in particular is fascinatingly ridiculous to watch though not at all imposing, dialing the camp up far too high to be taken seriously as a threat, resulting in an off-note performance that affects several scenes for the worse.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
