20 INSANE Horror Sequels We Almost Got
12. Halloween 5: The Killer Inside Me
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers concluded with a shockingly provocative final scene where young Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris) stabbed her foster mother Darlene (Karen Alston), implying that she had effectively inherited her uncle's compulsion to kill.
This was one hell of an intriguing, edgy setup for the fifth film, then, which fans assumed would feature Jamie as the new killer.
And indeed, a script called Halloween 5: The Killer Inside Me was hastily written in which Jamie was set to be an antagonist alongside a resurrected Michael Myers.
But producer Moustapha Akkad felt that a child killer was the wrong direction for the series and decided to shift the focus back to Michael while softly downplaying Halloween 4's ending in the critically panned Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
Now, is it entirely possible that the original version of Halloween 5 would've been absolutely awful? Of course, but at least it would've been a bold swing for the series just as franchise rot was well and truly beginning to set in.
