3. The Revelations of 'Becka Paulson
The Talisman sadly isn't the only Stephen King project recently put on the chopping block.
In 2020, The CW announced plans to adapt King's 1984 short story The Revelations of 'Becka Paulson into a drama series called Revelations.
The original story revolves around Becka, a woman who accidentally shoots herself in the head while spring cleaning, the subsequent brain damage causing her to hallucinate that the Jesus picture on top of her TV is talking to her, with grim results.
The story has been previously adapted into an episode of hit sci-fi anthology series The Outer Limits (pictured), where Catherine O'Hara played the role of Becca.
This new take was to be developed by Maisie Culver (Last Man Standing) and Katie Lovejoy (Dead Inside), though after many years of radio silence on the project, its cancellation was confirmed by reporter Matt Mitovich at the start of this year.
The primary reason was said to be The CW's recent change in ownership and subsequent shift away from scripted entertainment towards cheaper reality TV. Bleak.
