Cannes 2015: 10 Potentially Incredible Films In Competition

7. The Lobster

If you want to get a rough idea of just how weird The Lobster could turn out to be you only have to go back a few years and check out Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos's third feature film, Dogtooth - movies rarely get quite as surreal as that. Dogtooth earned Lanthimos the Prix Un Certain Regard, but this time around he's up for the Palme d'Or. The Lobster - his first English language feature - certainly has an impressive cast which includes Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz and John C. Reilly, and the premise sounds just as strange as his previous. The Lobster's odd dystopian premise - the characters have to find a partner within a 45 day period in a hotel otherwise they'll be transformed into animals and released in nearby woods - makes this perhaps one of the most intriguing entries in this year's Cannes Film Festival.
