Who Won? Yorgos Lanthimos - The Lobster Did It Deserve To Win?The Lobster is a film many have gone crazy for, loving its blend of comedy and romance that work so well yet defy any romcom description, so it's likely to be a popular winner of the festival's third prize. But does enjoyment of concept get in the way of actual execution? Kinda - the second half is a far cry from the first, tonally out of sync and a bit ponderous. It's a nice movie, but hardly one worthy of such an honour. Who Should Have Won?Sicario is another film from a foreign director who's moved into the English language that will live long after the festival, but also would have been a much more impactful winner in terms of festival tradition; it's an action-thriller.
