Did They Deserve To Win? Both performances were pretty incredible. It's nice to see Rooney Mara, instead of Cate Blanchett, get the nod for
Carol - not only is Mara an actress whose career would be greatly helped by some silverware, her Terese is the more subtle of the two. Bercot (and general love for the underappreciated
Mon Roi) is more surprising, but no less deserved - she improvised all of her lines and carries the film's emotional heart.
Who Should Have Won? The leading quartet of
Our Little Sister, who played off each other impeccably and pretty much made that film.
