A strange story has turned up over at
Bloodtype Online through
Bloody Disgusting, where they claim that
Ruggero Deodato's "companion piece" to his own film
Cannibal Holocaust will be set in the city rather than the jungle. Now I still haven't got round to seeing this thing, but doesn't this move to you sound a little trippy? Isn't the whole point of the original that it's set in the jungle as a documentary team go and film native tribes that live there? I guess setting the flick in the city will make the movie feel a bit more relevant to us as it will be in a setting we all recognize and have been too as opposed to a jungle which few of us probably have. More big news on the flick and according to both horror sites, it's "all but confirmed" that
The Last House on the Left actor
David Hess will have a role in the movie. The actor who I haven't seen on screen for years, has worked with Deodato on two low budget movies in the past... so this casting would seem to fit. Back to the setting though. Cannibal Holocaust set in the city? Can it work?
