Captain America 2 Spoilers: 10 Ways It Sets Up Future Marvel Universe Movies

2. The Falcon Will Join The Avengers

The newest superhero to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe did so partway through Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and there's no denying the fact that the movie put a lot of effort into assuring us that this character was here to stay. We're talking about the likes of The Falcon, of course, played by Anthony Mackie, who Captain America originally meets - as civilian Sam Wilson - whilst he's out for a jog. The two bond over the fact that they're always busy (and Marvin Gaye, believe it or not), until it's later revealed that there's more to Wilson than meets the eye. So he emerges as the Falcon, and aids Captain America in his fight against Hydra usually a specially developed flight suit that literally has him whizzing about the place like... well, like a falcon, really. At the end of the movie, the Falcon joins Captain America on his mission to solve the mysteries behind Hydra's resurgence, thus setting up the plot of Captain America 3. But given that Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to hit cinemas before Captain America 3, it seems incredibly likely that the Falcon will join his new buddy when it's time to tackle the great cosmic dangers. Anthony Mackie has already expressed his wish to join The Avengers in the upcoming sequel, of course, but let's be honest... which actor in their right mind wouldn't? Still, going on the evidence, it seems inevitable that his assimilation into the team will take place right around the same time that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch work their way into the ranks. Did somebody say awesome?
