Captain America: Civil War - 10 Amazing Comic Book Moments It Must Include
2. Tony Stark, Director Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
With Captain America behind bars (or possibly even dead), where does that leave Tony Stark? For the answer to that question, it may be best to look to the comic books. Iron Man is appointed the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and continues to serve as a superhero with his own team of government sanctioned Avengers backing him up. With no official S.H.I.E.L.D. organisation in place, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see Stark appointed the head of a resurrected version or possibly to even create a new organisation (how about H.A.M.M.E.R.?). For Robert Downey Jr., this would also make sense, as it could allow him to take a step back and only make sporadic appearance in the MCU. He may even put Iron Man behind him for some time. At least until Avengers: Infinity War anyway! Appointing Stark as the head of the goings on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would send shockwaves through all future movies and even TV shows. After all, you have to imagine that Director Coulson would want a word with Director Stark.
