Captain America: Civil War - 10 Great Comic Moments We Won’t Get To See

The Great Moment: After defecting to Captain America’s side, Spider-Man quickly finds himself a target of the Thunderbolts. While in a sewer tunnel, he is ambushed and nearly killed by Jack O’Lantern and Jester. He is only saved when the Punisher emerges, killing the villains and bringing the wounded Spider-Man to Captain America’s hideout.

Why We Won’t Get To See It: Although fans surely would love to see some more Punisher, it doesn’t sound like the movies have any interest in brining over the Netflix characters just yet. Whether it's the result of office politics or simple overcrowding, there was no room for The Punisher, and without him, this iconic shot becomes meaningless.

Reasons for exclusion aside, without Frank Castle, the whole issue becomes moot as the event doesn’t have as much resonance. It’s important because the hyper-violent Punisher goes out of his way to help another hero and risk his own safety and solitude to do so.

Not one member of the current roster of Civil War saving Spider-Man would come across as shocking and similarly, none of their entries into the conflict would be as notable as The Punisher's was.
