Captain America: Civil War - 10 Great Comic Moments We Won’t Get To See
4. The Dissolution Of The Fantastic Four
The Great Moment: As lines start to be drawn, Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic find themselves on opposite sides of the debate. To make matters worse, The Thing can’t make up his mind and the Human Torch is out of the fight after being attacked by anti-hero protestors. All of this culminates in the Fantastic Four splitting up and fighting for different sides.
Why We Won’t Get To See It: As many are aware, unfortunately, Marvel Studios don’t have the rights to the Fantastic Four. Just like that, all of the emotion and turmoil they bing to Civil War is unavailable for use on screen.
There's really no similar familial bond between any MCU characters that could replicate their heartbreaking fracture, meaning the entire thing is likely to be excised from the plot.
Although the absence of their sideplot won’t affect the main narrative, it did a great job of showing the schism this war was creating. It literally divided families and split up Marvel’s longest-lasting team. It was a defining moment for the comic but we already have a guarantee that it won't be the same for the film.
